Suyash Gupta is an entrepreneur, published author and leader of the national association of his industry. For over 25 years, he has engaged with diverse stakeholders which have included senior political leaders, bureaucrats – both at central and state government levels, senior media personnel, as well as political and industry leaders from over 30 nations.
His recent book ‘India’s Turn‘ was published to very positive reviews and was also accepted for inclusion in the Indian National Parliament Library.
Gupta is a Bachelor in Business Administration, and also completed an Executive Program in “Public Policy in India” from the Indian School of Business (ISB). He has been at the heart of the Indian Petroleum Industry since 1993 and is a founding member of the World LPG Association’s Autogas Focus Group and represents India on the group. He has championed the usage of cleaner fuels globally, through his extensive Indian and global travels.
He is the Founder & Director General of Industry Body, Indian Auto LPG Coalition- since 2002, and is a member of various committees of leading industry associations, including CII’s National Committee on Hydrocarbons, FICCI’s National Taskforce on ‘Future of Mobility’, and the Energy Committee of PHD Chambers of Commerce & Industry.
Mr Gupta is also a member of Standing Committee on Emission Legislation (SCoE), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India and also serves on the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (Technical Standing Committee), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India and on Bureau of Indian Standards, Transport Engineering Group (BIS TED 26)
He has also had an opportunity to be a consultant to National Energy Technology Laboratory, US Department of Energy and been the in-country coordinator for Clean Cities International, a program of US Department of Energy, aiming to promote the use of cleaner alternative fuel in India for Cleaner air, and working in close coordination with United States Agency for International Development (US-AID) and US-AEP (United States Asia Environment partnership), and having been conferred the United States- Asia Environmental Leadership Award, IHW Good Air Champion Award and Impact Award towards outstanding contribution in nation building.
As an entrepreneur, Gupta successfully runs organisations in the oil and gas equipment and retail space to include interests in LPG Autogas business, Mass Flow metering as well as LPG Marine Outboards.
He has authored several publications, articles, chaired important sessions and presented several papers globally, on the Indian LPG and Autogas Scenario. As an alternate fuel and energy expert, he is quoted widely, with his insights having appeared frequently in leading Indian and International- print and electronic media for over two decades now.
More recently, he has also been known as the man who changed New Delhi’s International Airport Terminal ‘T3’, when a series of Mr Gupta’s tweets, were noticed and responded to, by the Civil Aviation Minister of India. Following Mr Gupta’s tweets and Minister’s subsequent decision, a major infrastructural upgradation of Delhi’s airport – for passenger convenience, was announced by the government and massively welcomed by media globally.
Beyond his professional endeavours, Mr. Gupta is a connoisseur and practitioner of Indian Classical Music. An avid classical music lover, Mr Gupta has had an opportunity to perform Indian Classical, Vocal, on All India Radio, New Delhi for more than a decade, during which he also had a chance to appear on a couple of National TV Channels as a Young Achiever, as well as give public performances, including that at India International Centre and Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi. Suyash also launched his first musical album “Zindagi, a Rendezvous‘ in 2012 for private circulation..
