Education: The Gift That Keeps Creating Opportunities

Why Supporting Learning Matters

Education is often described as one of the most powerful forms of social investment because its effects can extend far beyond the classroom.

A child who receives educational support may gain not only academic knowledge, but also confidence, skills and access to future opportunities.

This is reflected in India’s CSR landscape. CRISIL’s CSR Yearbook 2025 found that education and skill development received the largest share of CSR spending among the categories analysed for FY2024—18% of total spending. Around 795 companies invested in this area.

Educational support can take many forms: scholarships, tuition programmes, learning materials, digital access, teacher training, vocational skills and mentorship.

For children from disadvantaged communities, even additional learning support can help create a stronger foundation for their educational journey.

But the deeper value of education is perhaps the confidence it creates.

When a child learns to read, solve a problem, express an idea or discover a talent, they gain something that can influence their future choices.

Education cannot remove every challenge. But it can expand the choices available to an individual.

Supporting a child’s education is an investment not just in one student, but in the possibilities that student may create for their family and community.
